Homelessness Support
If you are experiencing homelessness, sleeping rough or don't have somewhere safe and secure to live, you don't have to manage it alone. Our services provide practical assistance, outreach, showers and laundry, food and connections to other services that may be able to help.
SPLaSh

The Southern Peninsula Laundry and Shower program, SPLaSh, is a free service for people who are sleeping rough or experiencing other forms of homelessness.
SPLaSh provides practical support in a friendly, welcoming environment, offering access to showers, washing machines and dryers with soap, shampoo, towels and laundry powder included.
Food is also provided, a simple lunch and something to take away if desired. We have sandwiches or toasties, and Rotary Sorrento runs a free BBQ every other week. Hot and cold drinks are available too. There are toiletry packs and access to other material aid including tents, swags, bedding and some clothing.
Other services also attend SPLaSh, offering a chance to connect with much-needed supports that may be difficult to access.
A free GP clinic runs every Monday at SPLaSh to support people experiencing homelessness. The doctor sees people in a private space to discuss any health concerns and give basic checks and medical advice. Help is also available for the cost of prescriptions.
When and where
- Mondays and Thursdays, 11.30am to 2.30pm
- Summer, during the camping period: the amenities block behind Rosebud Skate Park, on the foreshore opposite Boneo Road
- Winter: the Section 7 camping amenities block on the McCrae foreshore, just after Adams Avenue if you are travelling towards Dromana
SPLaSh For Women

SPLaSh For Women is a program for women experiencing any form of homelessness. The program runs in a safe, inclusive indoor space where women can come for a chat, pick up some basic practical supplies, have a warm drink and a bite to eat. Private shower and laundry facilities are available if needed. Clothing is also available, as well as quiet activities.
Our team of all women staff and volunteers aim to create a space of trust and connection, and will happily work with the women attending to provide materials and space for particular interests and hobbies where possible.
SPLaSh For Women runs on Tuesdays, 11.30am to 2.30pm, in a discreet location to ensure safety and privacy for those attending. To find out where, please call us on 03 5986 1285.
We recognise that many women experiencing homelessness are escaping family violence or have other kinds of trauma in their background. Women who are rough sleeping are at particular risk of assault, so this program is designed to be secure and women-only.
SPLaSh For Women was established because the main SPLaSh program had low attendance by women, especially considering the Mornington Peninsula has one of the highest percentages of women rough sleeping in Victoria.
Homeless Connections assertive outreach

The Southern Peninsula Homeless Connections program grew out of the recognition that many people rough sleeping along our foreshore, reserves, parks and streets were not engaging with our centre, or even with the SPLaSh program.
Our Homeless Connections assertive outreach workers go out along the foreshore and beyond to find and connect with people who are rough sleeping. Many have lost all trust with services and have actively disengaged, usually then losing any chance at public housing and experiencing declining physical and mental health with no avenues for support.
Homeless Connections workers build trust and connection with rough sleepers, aiming to link them with essential supports such as health, mental health and housing. This can take time. Our workers are guided by the people they work with, engaging at the pace that suits them, with care and respect. The program works side by side with Bolton Clarke outreach nurses and other agencies to ensure those who are rough sleeping are not left behind or forgotten.
Homeless Connections workers also provide essential items to support people while they are rough sleeping, to keep them warm, dry and healthy. This includes tents, sleeping bags, stoves, airbeds, clothing, food and toiletries.
